The Armstrong County Jail, which opened in August of 2003, has a capacity of 158 inmates. The facility grants a safe environment to the Armstrong County community by providing the care and control of the jail's residents.

Visitation Information

Visiting Room

  • Weapons, cell phones, cameras or contraband of any type are prohibited in this facility.
  • All visitors must sign in at Central Control and show a valid form of photo ID.
  • All visitors must be 18 years of age. No one under 18 years of age is permitted on jail property without prior approval of the Warden.
  • All visitors are responsible for there actions.
  • Visits will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Smoking and tobacco use in the lobby and visiting areas is prohibited.
  • All visitors are subject to search at anytime while in the facility.
  • Any visitor suspected to being under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance will be turned away.
  • No more than one adult and two children or two adults are permitted to visit an inmate at one time.
  • All visitors must be dressed appropriately for a family setting.
  • Only the items necessary to conduct the visit may be brought into the visiting area. NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED.
  • Without prior approval, only money orders or cashiers checks may be left for inmates during visits. All note, letters, cards, etc. must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
  • Former inmates are not permitted to visit unless it has been 30 days since their release.
  • Any visitor who is unruly or uses profane language or gestures of any type will be asked to leave and their visiting privileges will be revoked.
  • Only approved visitors on the inmates visitor list will be permitted to visit. All others will be turned away.
  • Armstrong County Jail will in no way be held responsible for items lost, damaged, or stolen during your visit. All items not specifically needed for the visit should remain secured in your vehicle or in one of the lockers provided.

Visiting Hours

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:
    • 1 to 3:30 pm and 5:30 to 8:30 pm (no visitors will be accepted after 2:45p.m. and 7:45p.m. due to inmate headcount).
  • Tuesday:
    • 5:30 to 8:30 pm only (no visitors will be accepted after 7:45p.m. due to inmate headcount).

Directions

From 422 West

Take the New Bethlehem exit north on 66/28. Get in the left lane at the light. At the bottom of the hill, the road is on the right, across from the Gulf station before Marsha's Restaurant.

From 422 East

Go across the Graff Bridge, ending up on 66/28 North. Get in the left lane at the light. At the bottom of the hill, the road is on the right across, from the Gulf station before Marsha's Restaurant.

From Kittanning

Go up the hill, past the County Courthouse onto Clearfield Pike Road until the light. Turn left at the light. At the bottom of the hill, the road is on the right, across from the Gulf station before Marsha's Restaurant.
